In the south-west of Germany equidistant from Stuttgart and Frankfurt the Hockenheim race track is a short distance from the town of Hockenheim. It’s central location in Europe and well developed transportation links means that it’s an easily accessible Grand Prix for fans arriving by air, train and bus. If you’re like most fans though you’ll load a car up with camping gear and drive there.
Getting to the German Grand Prix
While the nearest airport is Mannheim, about 20 minutes from the circuit, most visitors who fly in for the event will arrive at Frankfurt (FRA).

From here, taking the train first to Mannheim then connecting to Hockenheim station is about a 90 minute journey; or hire a car and be there in just over an hour.
Arriving by Train
The nearest train station to the circuit is in the town of Hockenheim. This station is served directly from Mannheim station, about 20 minutes away. From Frankfurt or Heidelberg you’ll need to take the train first to Manheim and catch a connection from there.
You can search train schedules across multiple operators simultaneously to and from just about any station in Europe using Omio (formerly GoEuro) and purchase tickets for the same cost as buying direct from the train lines.
Hockenheim train station is only about 3km from the circuit so you can either hop on a shuttle bus or walk to the circuit or your campsite.
Driving to Hockenheim
The Hockenheimring is situated close to the A6 and A61 and is also accessible from the A5 as it joins the A6 at the Waldorf intersection. Use the information below to find your best route and exit.

From all exits, just follow the signs to Hockenheimring or the racecar and motorbike signs. At this point it may be a good idea to turn off your GPS as local traffic diversions may be in place near the circuit.
Parking at the Circuit
There is no shortage of parking at various designated parking zones around Hockenheim. There’s no need to pre-book tickets, just buy on the day. Going by previous years we can expect prices to be in the range of €30 per day and €80 for the weekend. Ticket offices for parking open at 8am.
